Natalie finally got to open her package containing her Flat Natalie in class today and share it with her class.. She was so excited to see what adventures her flat self had.

Karl was home recovering from some stomach bug he had the day before when I brought in a box from the garage of a "fusion" scooter I had bought his older brother for mowing the lawn and doing some other chores around the house. We opened the box and I took a look at all the unassembled pieces and figured that Paul would have to put it together. Karl's little mind started going and then the phone rang. By the time I was off the phone-not even 15 minutes later he was just finishing assembling it (without the manual). He even noticed some small details were not the same as the picture on the box. He must have gotten this talent from his Engineer Dad.

I looked around for a second time. Nothing out of the ordinary. Nothing older than the '70's, no cool paint jobs, nothing fancy. I asked Karl to point out the really old car so that I could see it.
"It's right THERE!" he said with a hint of impaitence (obviously I didn't know what an old car looks like.)
"Oh," I replied. "That's a Chevy Malibu....it came out when I was about your age."
.....so I guess that means I'm really old too!
